There's a new modules.conf.d folder used on RH7, need to determine if that's the more appropriate place for part of the shib.conf material or if it's worth bothering.

This isn't worth doing with all the permutations I'd have to test but we can look at it once the packaging has to be extended to RH8.
Yes, you are right. I didn't succeed in reproducing 401 error.

I haven't seen or heard of anything like that. That's the usual sort of thing people say when they are just randomly changing things. There is no significance to where the file comes from, only ordering of commands.

Correct name is "conf.modules.d". I heard the LoadModule line in shib.conf causes 401 Unauthorized error on RHEL 7. The deployer says that moving the line to httpd.conf resolves this issue and redirects successfully.
